ਬਲਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਬਿਨਸਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਤਨੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਲਾਧਾ ॥
Baliaa Gur Giaan Andhhaeraa Binasiaa Har Rathan Padhaarathh Laadhhaa ||
बलिआ गुर गिआनु अंधेरा बिनसिआ हरि रतनु पदारथु लाधा ॥
The Guru-given Divine Knowledge is shedding lustre I have therefore found the priceless gem of God’s Name.
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ-ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਪਸਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਲਭ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਇਆ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਥਾ ਆਪੁ ਆਪੈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਖਾਧਾ ॥
Houmai Rog Gaeiaa Dhukh Laathhaa Aap Aapai Guramath Khaadhhaa ||
हउमै रोगु गइआ दुखु लाथा आपु आपै गुरमति खाधा ॥
My malady or ego has departed and my anguish is over. Under Guru’s instruction I myself have eaten up my self-conceit.
ਮੇਰੀ ਹਊਮੇ ਦੀ ਬੀਮਾਰੀ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਦੁਖੜਾ ਕਟਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਅਧੀਨ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਖਾ ਲਿਅ ਹੈ।
