ਚਉਥੈ ਪਹਰੈ ਰੈਣਿ ਕੈ ਵਣਜਾਰਿਆ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਬਿਰਧਿ ਭਇਆ ਤਨੁ ਖੀਣੁ ॥
Chouthhai Peharai Rain Kai Vanajaariaa Mithraa Biradhh Bhaeiaa Than Kheen ||
चउथै पहरै रैणि कै वणजारिआ मित्रा बिरधि भइआ तनु खीणु ॥
In the fourth watch of the night, O my merchant friend! man’s body grows old and weak.
ਰਾਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਚੌਥੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਅੰਦਰ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਦਾਗਰ ਬੇਲੀਆਂ! ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਦੇਹਿ ਬੁੱਢੀ ਤੇ ਲਿੱਸੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਅਖੀ ਅੰਧੁ ਨ ਦੀਸਈ ਵਣਜਾਰਿਆ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਕੰਨੀ ਸੁਣੈ ਨ ਵੈਣ ॥
Akhee Andhh N Dheesee Vanajaariaa Mithraa Kannee Sunai N Vain ||
अखी अंधु न दीसई वणजारिआ मित्रा कंनी सुणै न वैण ॥
His eyes go blind and see not, and his ears hear not the words, O my merchant friend!
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਕੰਨ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ, ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਦਾਗਰ ਬੇਲੀਆਂ!
