ਮਤੁ ਜਾਣ ਸਹਿ ਗਲੀ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Math Jaan Sehi Galee Paaeiaa ||
मतु जाण सहि गली पाइआ ॥
Do not think that your Husband Lord can be obtained by mere words.

ਮਾਲ ਕੈ ਮਾਣੈ ਰੂਪ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਇਤੁ ਬਿਧੀ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Maal Kai Maanai Roop Kee Sobhaa Eith Bidhhee Janam Gavaaeiaa ||1|| Rehaao ||
माल कै माणै रूप की सोभा इतु बिधी जनमु गवाइआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
You are wasting this life in the pride of wealth and the splendor of beauty. ||1||Pause||

सिरीरागु महला १ घरु ३ ॥
Siree Raag, First Mehl, Third House:

ਅਮਲੁ ਕਰਿ ਧਰਤੀ ਬੀਜੁ ਸਬਦੋ ਕਰਿ ਸਚ ਕੀ ਆਬ ਨਿਤ ਦੇਹਿ ਪਾਣੀ ॥
Amal Kar Dhharathee Beej Sabadho Kar Sach Kee Aab Nith Dhaehi Paanee ||
अमलु करि धरती बीजु सबदो करि सच की आब नित देहि पाणी ॥
Make good deeds the soil, and let the Word of the Shabad be the seed; irrigate it continually with the water of Truth.

ਹੋਇ ਕਿਰਸਾਣੁ ਈਮਾਨੁ ਜੰਮਾਇ ਲੈ ਭਿਸਤੁ ਦੋਜਕੁ ਮੂੜੇ ਏਵ ਜਾਣੀ ॥੧॥
Hoe Kirasaan Eemaan Janmaae Lai Bhisath Dhojak Moorrae Eaev Jaanee ||1||
होइ किरसाणु ईमानु जमाइ लै भिसतु दोजकु मूड़े एव जाणी ॥१॥
Become such a farmer, and faith will sprout. This brings knowledge of heaven and hell, you fool! ||1||

ਜਪੁ ਤਪੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਹੋਹਿ ਜਬ ਰਾਖੇ ਕਮਲੁ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਮਧੁ ਆਸ੍ਰਮਾਈ ॥੨॥
Jap Thap Sanjam Hohi Jab Raakhae Kamal Bigasai Madhh Aasramaaee ||2||
जपु तपु संजमु होहि जब राखे कमलु बिगसै मधु आस्रमाई ॥२॥
When chanting, austere meditation and self-discipline become your protectors, then the lotus blossoms forth, and the honey trickles out. ||2||

ਬੀਸ ਸਪਤਾਹਰੋ ਬਾਸਰੋ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹੈ ਤੀਨਿ ਖੋੜਾ ਨਿਤ ਕਾਲੁ ਸਾਰੈ ॥
Bees Sapathaaharo Baasaro Sangrehai Theen Khorraa Nith Kaal Saarai ||
बीस सपताहरो बासरो संग्रहै तीनि खोड़ा नित कालु सारै ॥
Bring the twenty-seven elements of the body under your control, and throughout the three stages of life, remember death.

ਦਸ ਅਠਾਰ ਮੈ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੋ ਚੀਨੈ ਕਹੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਇਵ ਏਕੁ ਤਾਰੈ ॥੩॥੨੬॥
Dhas Athaar Mai Aparanparo Cheenai Kehai Naanak Eiv Eaek Thaarai ||3||26||
दस अठार मै अपर्मपरो चीनै कहै नानकु इव एकु तारै ॥३॥२६॥
See the Infinite Lord in the ten directions, and in all the variety of nature. Says Nanak, in this way, the One Lord shall carry you across. ||3||26||

ਪਿਤ ਸੁਤੋ ਸਗਲ ਕਾਲਤ੍ਰ ਮਾਤਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੋਹਿ ਨ ਅੰਤਿ ਸਖਾਇਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Pith Sutho Sagal Kaalathr Maathaa Thaerae Hohi N Anth Sakhaaeiaa || Rehaao ||
पित सुतो सगल कालत्र माता तेरे होहि न अंति सखाइआ ॥ रहाउ ॥
Father, children, spouse, mother and all relatives-they shall not be your helpers in the end. ||Pause||

ਬਿਖੈ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਦੁਸਟ ਕਿਰਖਾ ਕਰੇ ਇਨ ਤਜਿ ਆਤਮੈ ਹੋਇ ਧਿਆਈ ॥
Bikhai Bikaar Dhusatt Kirakhaa Karae Ein Thaj Aathamai Hoe Dhhiaaee ||
बिखै बिकार दुसट किरखा करे इन तजि आतमै होइ धिआई ॥
So weed out evil, wickedness and corruption; leave these behind, and let your soul meditate on God.

ਮਨੁ ਕਿਰਸਾਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਜੰਮਾਇ ਲੈ ਇਉ ਪਾਵਸਿ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ॥੧॥
Man Kirasaan Har Ridhai Janmaae Lai Eio Paavas Padh Nirabaanee ||1||
मनु किरसाणु हरि रिदै जमाइ लै इउ पावसि पदु निरबाणी ॥१॥
Let your mind be the farmer; the Lord shall sprout in your heart, and you shall attain the state of Nirvaanaa. ||1||

ਕਾਹੇ ਗਰਬਸਿ ਮੂੜੇ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
Kaahae Garabas Moorrae Maaeiaa ||
काहे गरबसि मूड़े माइआ ॥
You fool! Why are you so proud of Maya?

Eihu Than Dhharathee Beej Karamaa Karo Salil Aapaao Saaringapaanee ||
इहु तनु धरती बीजु करमा करो सलिल आपाउ सारिंगपाणी ॥
Make this body the field, and plant the seed of good actions. Water it with the Name of the Lord, who holds all the world in His Hands.
