ਜਿਉ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਤਿਉ ਰਹੈ ਇਸੁ ਲੋਭੀ ਕਾ ਜੀਉ ਟਲ ਪਲੈ ॥੧॥
Jio Saahib Raakhai Thio Rehai Eis Lobhee Kaa Jeeo Ttal Palai ||1||
जिउ साहिबु राखै तिउ रहै इसु लोभी का जीउ टल पलै ॥१॥
As our Lord and Master keeps us, so do we exist. The soul of this greedy person is
tossed this way and that. ||1||
ਬਿਨੁ ਤੇਲ ਦੀਵਾ ਕਿਉ ਜਲੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

बिनु तेल दीवा किउ जलै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Without the oil, how can the lamp be lit? ||1||Pause||
